Jasmyne Eastmond is a writer, journalist and artist. She received her B.Sc in Biology and English Literature from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. As a postgraduate student at Clare Hall College, University of Cambridge, she explores ecological consciousness in African diasporic literature.  

Her research interests include ecocriticism, postcolonial studies, African diaspora studies, contemporary literary theory and the environmental humanities. Her journalistic work also attempts to link art, culture and socio-environmental justice. 

Jasmyne has interviewed Atlanta-based, award-winning American photographer Sheila Pree Bright and has reviewed a variety of live performers and speakers including Emotional Oranges, Chiiild, the Tiny Tricycle Poets and Ta-Nehisi Coates.
